The lights come on during the “magic” Christmas.

By tradition almost in every part of Italy, people recover lights and decorations and prepare the tree and the Nativity scene on the 8th of December for the imminent Christmas.

In Caorle, the festivities for the Advent period start during the Day of the Immaculate Conception. A benevolent show called “A Child is born,” the event which opens the Christmas in Caorle, will take place in the sports hall “Valter Vicentini” on the 08th of December at 09.00 p.m. It is a show-concert and its proceeds will be donated to ABC “Associazione Bambini Chirurgici” (Surgical Children Association) of Burlo Hospital of Trieste. Very important guests of the music and television world will participate to this event. The queen of the evening will be the American singer Cheryl Porter, who will perform together with the”Halleluja Gospel Singer” of Chicago. Two young singers of the television show of Canale 5 “Io canto” will be present in Caorle: Christian Imparato, the winner of the first edition of the program and Enrico Nadai, one of the finalists of the last edition 2011. Other artists who will be in Caorle are the master Luca Pitteri, Ilir Shaquiri, a dancer of “Amici” and “Buona Domenica,” the London singer Manuela Panizzo, Angela Milanese and the “Coro Blu Bordeaux” of Padova. Emanuela Morini, one of the actresses of “Cento Vetrine” will present the show. This event has been realized by the singer Maria Dal Rovere after the assistance, that she had from Abc in occasion of the birth of her daughter Matilda. After this benevolent event, other appointments will follow. A series of concerts with the most important choirs of the zone will follow. The first show is on Sunday, the 09th of December at 03.00 p.m. by the Casa di Riposo Don Moschetta (Residential Home Don Moschetti) of Caorle. The Auser “Sempre Giovani” choir will perform. On Thursday, the 13th of December this choir together with the choir of San Giorgio di Livenza will be the protagonists of a concert by the Church of Ca’ Cattoni. The concert will start at 09.30 p.m. Another series of Christmas concerts will be on Sunday the 16th of December at 08.30 p.m. by the parish hall of Castello di Brussa. On Friday the 21st of December by the Cathedral of Saint Stephan, the parish chorale and all the other chorales of the municipal district will perform in occasion of the traditional concert of Christmas, which every year many music lovers participate to. The music will give further emotions thanks to the wonderful voice of Carlotta Melchiori, a 25- year- old soprano of Caorle, who will perform during two concerts. The first concert will take place on Friday the 14th of December by the parish hall of San Giorgio di Livenza at 08.30 p.m. and it will propose a very interesting repertoire, from the most famous romances to the soundtracks and in the end, to Christmas songs. Among the pieces, which will be sung by Carlotta ( who will also play the piano during her performance) we have to remember : “C’era una volta il west” of Morricone, “Kiss the rain” of Yruma, “Moon river” from “Colazione da Tiffany”, “Now we are free” , the main theme of “il Gladiatore”, “Il mare calmo della sera” of Andrea Bocelli, “Nessun Dorma”, “Vissi D’arte” from Tosca of Puccini and many others. The second concert will take place by the Church of Porto Santa Margherita on Saturday the 22nd of December at 08.30 p.m. During this concert, this praiseworthy singer, who has performed in the most important theatres of Italy and also abroad, will sing some pieces of church music, for example “Ave Maria” of Mascagni and “Ave Maria” of Gounod. Among the musical appointments of Christmas, the parade of “Marafa Marafon” City Band cannot miss. This parade will take place on Saturday the 22nd of December at 05.00 p.m. in Rio Terrà. This will be one of the first exhibitions of the band of Caorle after the change of its leader, from Daniele Sangion to the new bandleader Mirko Bellucco. On Saturday the 22nd of December, the ice- skating ring will open. It will be the most desired attraction for grown-ups and children that will remain until the 03rd of February open. The following day others two important events are in program: the not-competitive track event “Spetame che rivo” which will start in the morning. In addition, the children of the schools of Caorle will take part. The second event is the “first night” of the new comedy of Gruppo Teatrale Caorlotto: “Scandalo in Canonica “of A. Zucchini. This show will be staged on 04.30 p.m. by the Enrico Fermi gym. Some funds for the Group Shalom, an association that takes care of the oncological patients will be collected during this play. By tradition, the night torchlight procession will conclude the series of appointments “before” Christmas. This procession will take place during the Christmas Eve at 11.30 p.m. and it will accompany the statue of Baby Jesus from the sea of Caorle to the Cathedral of Saint Stephen.
